My name is Simon Bourne.
In 2014, I founded my award winning company, Hand Dyed Shoe Co. It was quickly a huge success, appearing on Dragons' Den, winning local and national awards, attracting global PR and selling thousands of shoes.
By Christmas 2021, I had lost it all. On the outside, I was a charismatic, creative winner. On the inside, I was a lost, debt ridden failure. There was no other option other than to end my life.
Thankfully, I lived to tell the tale and Soled Out is the story of why and how I did.
My mission is to help other people feeling desperate, lost and like there is no way out of their predicament. I want to get people talking by showing them how easy it is to talk about things that are seemingly uncomfortable. I want to show people how powerful vulnerability can be and how it can be used to not only aid your recovery, but carve a brighter and more authentic future.
This is not just my story; it is a beacon of hope in the darkest of nights.
