The Mr. Porterhouse Long Wingtip Blucher is a type of shoe that boasts a distinctively stylish design. It has a toecap that is adorned with intricate perforations, as well as an elongated brogue panel that runs along the sides and back of the shoe, all the way to the heel. This shoe is similar to a Mr. Rump Full Brogue, but it is much more eye-catching and unique in its design. Our Porterhouse is a classic style that exudes elegance and sophistication, making it a perfect choice for formal occasions such as weddings, business meetings, and other special events. It is also versatile enough to be worn as office wear, allowing you to look sharp and professional at work.

Craft

The Clicking Department is the first stage of production. The highly skilled 'Clickers' (whose name derives from the ‘click’ sound made when the knife is removed from the leather) use predetermined patterns to intricately cut the shoe’s uppers and linings.

Each Clicker design and grind the blade of their knife to their own personal taste and working preference.

Goodyear Welted

Original Goodyear welting is the oldest, most labour intensive, and most durable of the three methods of construction.

The welt refers to a strip of leather that is sewn around the perimeter of the upper of the shoe, onto the insole. The outer sole is then sewn to the welt, as opposed to being attached directly to the upper like the Blake stitch method.

The cavity created by the welt between the insole and the outer sole is filled with cork, another natural product which provides insulation, protection, and comfort: as you wear the shoe, the cork filler takes an impression of your foot, like memory foam. This provides unparalleled comfort and support when compared to cheaper forms of manufacturing.

Full Grain Calf Leather

These shoes are fully-lined with beautifully soft calfskin leather, which means ultimate comfort. Many high street brands will only partially line their shoes, but Jim Charles goes the extra mile, lining the shoe throughout because it means a more comfortable shoe and less break-in time.
